Tuff TAG AG Hydraulic Cylinder, 2" Bore x 1-1/4" Rod, 2" to 54" Stroke, Australian Made
Hydraulic Cylinder / Ram — 2.0" Bore — Australian Made
Certified Australian Made, assembled at Tuff Manufacturing's Queensland factory from materials sourced exclusively within Australia. Backed by a 2-year warranty and individually oil tested before dispatch.
All-steel double-acting cylinder, 2.0" bore and piston, 1.25" hard chrome rod, female clevis with 1" high tensile steel pin and spring steel R-clip retainers at both ends.
Producing up to 4.2 tonnes push force extending and 2.3 tonnes pull force retracting at 3,000 PSI (207 bar) — actual force depends on stroke length (see chart below).
Or order directly from this listing.

This cylinder can also be used as a single-acting ram (e.g. gravity pull or push down). Dual 9/16" UNO ports at each end give more options for connecting in tight spots.
Australian Tax Invoice and 2-year warranty included on every order.
WARNING: Hydraulic cylinders without a hose burst valve, pilot-operated check valve, or counterbalance valve mounted directly to the cylinder do not meet Australian Standard AS1418.8, nor occupational health & safety rules.
Force ratings — read before you order
Maximum safe push/pull force drops as stroke length increases. Note this bore/rod combination can't sustain the full 207 bar system pressure past a 10" stroke — the chart pressure figure drops alongside the force figure as stroke increases.
Example:
- TAG 2012D (12" stroke): 3.9 tonnes at a maximum pressure of 187 bar (2,712 psi)
- TAG 2030D (30" stroke): 900kg at a maximum pressure of 44 bar (638 psi)
- Figures are based on a safety factor of 2, cylinder vertical and fully guided.
- Horizontal mounting or arc operation may require reducing these values further.
- If your required load exceeds the chart figure for your stroke, move up in bore or rod size, or add another cylinder.
Conversions: 1 kN = 102 kgf = 225 lbf · 1 bar = 14.5 psi

Why "high quality" actually means something here
Every wear component in this cylinder carries a named material spec and a tested performance figure — here's the breakdown.
Rod — hard chrome plated, high tensile steel
- Precision turned and polished, then electrolytically hard-chrome plated for surface hardness and corrosion resistance
Barrel, gland nut, clevis — steel
- Same base materials and manufacturing process as our imported range: cold-drawn seamless honed steel barrel, taken through cutting, acid pickling, phosphating, cold drawing, annealing, straightening, honing/skiving, and roller burnishing
Pins — high tensile steel with spring steel R-clip retainers
Piston — steel, dual guide rings
- Dual guide rings keep the piston seal square through the full stroke, which is what extends seal life on this design compared to a single-ring piston
Piston seal — Hallite 780, five-part assembly
- Max pressure 400 bar, -30°C to +100°C, piston linear speed up to 0.5 m/sec
- Comprised of a nitrile rubber sealing element, two split support rings, and two split L-shaped guide rings positioned either side of the seal
- Nitrile sealing element uses a multi-lip profile for dynamic sealing with minimal low-pressure friction; under pressure, the extending lips of the support rings protect it from extrusion damage
- Support/guide rings are a synthetic fibre-reinforced polyester composite with synthetic graphite micro-powder — low friction coefficient, high load-carrying capacity, low water absorption, chemical resistance, UV-stable for outdoor service
Rod wiper seal — Hallite 834
- Rated -45°C to +110°C, rod speeds up to 4 m/sec
- Moulded in Hythane® 181 polyurethane for wear resistance
- Internal moulded ribs resist wiper blow-out from pressure trapped between the wiper and main rod seal
Gland nut (rod) seal — Hallite, Hythane® 181
- Rated 400 bar max pressure, -45°C to +110°C, rod speeds up to 1 m/sec
Built for repeat daily use
Each cylinder is individually oil tested at the factory before dispatch and backed by a 2-year warranty — the same material and seal specs above are what stand behind day-to-day use in earthmoving, transport, and farm equipment.
We can supply cylinders in many bore, stroke, and port orientations — send us a question for different sizes and costings.
Many adaptor threads, hydraulic hose, and field-fit hose fittings also available — see our other listings.
Re-seal kits also available.
Suited to hydraulic applications across industry, manufacturing, transport, and farming — including tilt tray and skip bin trucks, front end loaders, backhoes, tractors, farm implements, and log splitters.
Comes complete with a female clevis at each end.

Hydraulic Online is an Australian-owned e-commerce business specialising in hydraulic components for agriculture, construction, mining, marine, transport, and industrial applications.
With over two decades of hands-on industry experience, we supply field-proven products that are built to perform in real working environments — not just to look good on a spec sheet.
What We Supply
Our range covers the full hydraulic system — from hoses and fittings through to motors, pumps, cylinders, valves, power packs, and accessories.
Whether you’re replacing a worn orbital motor, building a power pack, or just need a hose assembly made to a specific length, we have what you need in stock and ready to ship.
Who We Supply
We supply trade customers, farmers, equipment dealers, hire companies, plant operators, and DIY owners across Australia. Orders ship from warehouses in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, and Western Australia — with same-day dispatch on orders placed before 12 noon AEST where stock is available.
Why Buy From Us
We are not a catalogue company. Every product we sell has been selected based on real-world performance feedback from our service workshop and our customers.
