Vivoil X3P Group 3 Gear Pump 14.9 to 86.9cc - 4 Bolt DIN Mount, 1:8 Tapered Shaft, BSPP Ports
The Vivoil X3P Series is a group 3 external gear pump built in Italy by Vivoil. Group 3 is the big alloy frame - 14.9 to 86.9 cm3 per revolution, 300 bar continuous and 320 bar peak on the smaller displacements, and ports up to 1-1/4 inch BSPP. At 1,450 rpm an 86.9cc pump moves around 120 litres a minute, which is real machine flow: crane packs, drill rigs, tipping semis and PTO driven truck circuits.
Pick your options below and the exact factory part number appears on screen. Every choice in the dropdowns is a real catalogued part number with a firm price - nothing here is a guess.
Applications
- Tipping semi trailers and B-double hoist circuits
- Truck mounted cranes and hook lifts
- PTO driven high flow truck and tractor circuits
- Drill rigs, augers and post drivers
- Large electric and diesel power units
- Group 3 pump replacements on European built machinery
Ways to buy this gear pump

Standard Supply Configuration
- Bare pump - no fittings, adaptors, couplings or bell housing fitted
- Mounting flange and drive shaft exactly as selected in the dropdowns above
- Port sizes per the performance table for your displacement
- Nitrile (NBR) seals as standard - viton is a factory option
- Standard blank rear cover unless a relief cover has been quoted separately
- Rotation as stated in the title - a gear pump cannot be reversed in the field
Rotation - clockwise as standard. Every pump on this listing is built clockwise, viewed from the shaft end. That is the standard build and it is what we hold, so there is no rotation dropdown here - nothing on this page is anti-clockwise. The factory will build the same pump anti-clockwise as a special order. Send us the displacement, mount and shaft you need through the quote request form or call 1300 146 737, and we will come back with a firm price and a lead time. Do not fit a clockwise pump to an anti-clockwise drive - it will not make pressure and it will wreck the shaft seal.
How to Order - Part Number Breakdown
Every part number on this listing decodes the same way. Worked example:
X3P 66 32 I D D A
| Position | What it means |
|---|---|
| X3P | Series - Vivoil group 3 pump |
| 66 | Displacement - 66 = 14.89cc, 68 = 17.37, 70 = 21.10, 72 = 26.97, 74 = 32.27, 78 = 38.47, 79 = 43.44, 80 = 47.16, 81 = 50.88, 82 = 54.60, 83 = 60.81, 85 = 64.53, 86 = 70.74, 87 = 74.46, 89 = 86.87cc |
| 32 | Flange and rotation - 01/02 = DIN group 3 (left/right), 31/32 = SAE B (left/right) |
| I | Shaft - A = 1:8 taper 22mm M14x1.5, 4mm key, 482 Nm. H = 7/8 inch parallel, 6.35mm key, 180 Nm. I = 7/8 inch 13 tooth spline, 264 Nm |
| D | Inlet port - D = 3/4 inch BSPP, E = 1 inch, F = 1-1/4 inch. Set by displacement |
| D | Outlet port - D = 3/4 inch BSPP, E = 1 inch, F = 1-1/4 inch |
| A | Rear cover - A = standard blank cover |
The taper shaft carries by far the most torque of the three - 482 Nm against 264 Nm for the spline and 180 Nm for the key. Worth knowing if you are close to the limit. Swap the 02 or 32 for 01 or 31 and the factory builds the pump anti-clockwise.

How to choose
- Work out the flow you need first. Litres per minute = displacement in cc x rpm divided by 1000, then take off 5 to 10 percent for slip. A 1,450 rpm electric motor on a 16.8cc pump gives roughly 23 L/min.
- Then check the pressure. Continuous pressure falls as displacement rises on every gear pump frame. Read the performance table for the exact displacement you are choosing, not the headline figure.
- Match the mount and shaft to the machine. 4 bolt DIN with a 1:8 taper is the European standard. SAE 2 bolt with a keyed or splined shaft is the American standard and is what most Australian bell housings, gearboxes and couplings expect.
- Confirm rotation from the shaft end. Gear pumps cannot be reversed in the field. Look at the shaft coming towards you and note which way it turns.
- Check the power available. kW = flow in L/min x pressure in bar divided by 600, then divide by about 0.85 for efficiency. There is no point specifying a pump the engine or motor cannot turn.
- Not sure? Call 1300 146 737 with your drive speed, the flow you want, the pressure and a photo of the old pump. We do this every day.

- Inlet plumbing is not optional at this size. An 86.9cc pump at 1,450 rpm needs around 120 litres a minute through the suction. That means a 1-1/4 inch full bore inlet, a short run, a properly sized tank connection and a strainer with real area. Undersize the inlet on a group 3 and you will cavitate it into scrap in a week.
- Shaft torque limits differ a lot. 1:8 taper 482 Nm, 13 tooth spline 264 Nm, 7/8 inch key 180 Nm. On a big displacement at full pressure the key is the weak link - if you are near the limit, specify the taper.
- Size the relief for the pump, not the actuator. A relief valve that can only pass half the pump flow is not protection. The pressure will climb straight past the setting.
- Watch the drive coupling on PTO jobs. A truck or tractor PTO is not a smooth drive, it delivers torque pulses. Use a proper flexible element coupling rather than a solid one, and check the bolts after the first week.
- Heat. A group 3 pump dumping 100 litres a minute over a relief valve makes roughly 30 kW of heat. If the machine spends real time on relief you need a cooler, and you needed it yesterday.
- Noise tells you the truth. A gear pump that has gone from a hum to a rattle has either a failing bearing bush or air in the suction. Neither gets better on its own.
Warranty and Service
12-month warranty on every pump. If you are identifying an existing pump, photograph every number cast or stamped on the body and the shaft end and send it through with your enquiry - gear pump part numbers are long and one letter changes the shaft or the rotation.
